Mission: The mission of the Westside Community Church Prayer Team is to unite our congregation in prayer to God, by providing structure, activities and communication.
Vision: We will accomplish our mission through fervent prayer, biblical study and fellowship.
Daily Prayer: Circulate current prayer requests so that members of the Prayer Team are made aware of the needs of church members in a timely manner. This will provide a daily "watch" where corporate and other needs can be brought to The Lord in prayer. It will also build enthusiasm among church members as they knit their hearts together in prayer and as they share in the joy of the results as God blesses His people.
Monthly Prayer Breakfast: All
interested members will have the opportunity to join together in prayer
and fellowship. In addition to praying together, there will be time
available for discussion of biblical principles and other instructional
topics. This will also be a time for sharing praise reports and new
prayer requests. Individuals may also receive ministering, where
willing members of the Prayer Team may lay hands on them for
impartation of God's healing power.
The breakfast will be held at Jill's Restaurant at 421 7th streeton
the first Saturday morning of each month, beginning at 8:00.
Power Chain: Members of the Prayer
Team will be organized into a circular chain so that at any time, if
one member is called upon for an emergency or other request requiring
immediate mobilization of the Prayer Team, every member will be quickly
notified in an organized fashion. This provides a means for activating
intercessory prayer without confusion. Team members may also make visitations
to pray for, and minister to people in person in specific situations.
We will communicate primarily by e-mail and phone.
Special Events Support: The Prayer Team will provide prayer coverage before, during and after special events of Westside Community Church. Members of the team will be available during events to pray for specific people and situations as needed. All planning, preparations and associated activities will be covered with prayer.
Future Endeavors: Other ideas to
consider include a periodic newsletter to report results and provide
instructional and inspirational information to church members.
In order to promote spiritual growth, bible studies and materials will be offered with emphasis on topics related to the various aspects of prayer.
The specific activities of the Prayer Team will evolve and adjustments
will be made as The Lord leads. The goal is to build prayer into the
daily lives of every member of Westside Community Church.
